Hey, this is Mike with the report for Wednesday afternoon at 12:50 PM. 1-2 ft - knee to thigh high and poor conditions.
PM Regional Overview: N windswell this afternoon with gusty NNE winds. Choppy sloppy conditions. Not worth getting wet with the cold temps. Spots within the Cape shadow are smallest. AM Report:
Clean but small lines on tap. Could be fun on a log. N windswell is on the build with cold, drifty conditions. Spots in the northern portion of the region are tiny from the Cape blockage -- Check the forecast for more details.
(CENTRAL FL INCLUDES BEACHES SOUTH OF NEW SMYRNA THROUGH FT. PIERCE)
THURSDAY:
3-4’+ fading NNE windswell leftovers. Spots within the Cape shadow such as Cocoa Beach are smaller (some spots much smaller) due to the N direction of the surf.

If you are thinking about a trip to the North Shore this winter, and would like to polish up your technique or talents, you may want to visit the SunsetSuratt Surf School. "Uncle Brian" Suratt has been teaching and coaching for over 40 years and has helped hundreds of wave riders take their surfing to the next level. For more info, or to book a session in Hawaii, contact: http://www.sunsetsurattsurfschool.com/ The North Shore circus is officially in full swing, drawing the world’s top surfing tightrope walkers, beast-tamers, freaks and clowns. For proof, just check Surfline’s latest weekly report , where NJ’s Ryan Miller followed East Coasters around during a down day. Zander Morton and Gabe Kling watched TV, while Brian Toth, CJ Hobgood and Ben Bourgeois played tennis. Come on, guys: get back in the water! Don’t you realize it’s winter back home?! Speaking of back home, both the Quiksilver King of the Peak and the Jupiter Classic blew up over the weekend. Alek Parker stole the South Florida title while Cody Thompson took five straight skins to steal the Sebastian crown and Blake Jones won the ESM airshow. Stick around competitors because Volcom’s VQS Sea Cow event comes to Mayport Poles in Jax Beach this weekend, Nov. 22-23. But first, on Nov. 18, Green Beer Tuesday strikes South Florida’s Titanic Brewery; chill with your brethren surfers and environmental peeps and get your first beer free. (There’s also a little mini-presentation each month about a relevant SFL enviro issue to spur some cool conversation and keep you in the know.) And if you miss that, catch the Nov. 27 meeting at Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Word on Gulfster.com is Suncoast Surf Shop is holding a Christmas Sidewalk Sale every weekend beginning Nov. 21. And on Nov. 23, the Compound Boardshop is holding a Thankskimming Event. The "Tripple on the Ripple Skim Tournament"?is the largest Game of S-K-I-M Ever, a 3 on 3 Team Tournament. $600 Top Prize . Register at any Compound location Surf Central is giving away two surfboards free. To qualify, you must submit your email address at the shop – first drawing is Nov. 28; second one is Dec. 23. And on Dec. 1, Volusia Surfrider will hold their monthly meeting at Lulu’s in Ormond Beach where New Smyrna beach’s official Vice-Mayor – and unofficial shaping mayor – Randy Richenberg will be the guest speaker. The tropical season is almost over, but you can extend your pleasure by continuing the Hunt on Surfline as the Lopezes, Alek Parker and Tommy O’Brien chase Hurricane Hanna. The national election’s done, but another political fight is only beginning. With Congress lifting the ban on offshore drilling , now’s the time to contact your Senators and State Reps and tell them it’s time to explore for fresh energy solutions – not petroleum. And, finally, what’s the best part of a surf trip? That giant excess baggage fee the airlines pork you with on both sides, right? Wrong! Well, stop bitching and do something by signing this petition.
